Chin Augmentation

A chin implant or chin augmentation is a surgical procedure that can help men achieve a more prominent and defined jawline, and can also improve facial balance and proportion.

There are different implant options for chin augmentation that Dr. Chang offers. She uses both standard Metapor implants or she can create custom CAD-drawn facial implants made specially for your bone structure and unique anatomy.

During the procedure, Dr. Catherine Chang, MD, FACS will make a small incision either inside the mouth or beneath the chin and insert a silicone implant to augment the chin. Chin implants can help to create a more prominent and defined jawline, and can also improve facial balance and proportion.

The recovery period for jawline enhancement procedures varies depending on the extent of the surgery. Patients may experience some bruising and swelling, which usually subsides within a few weeks. Dr. Catherine Chang, MD, FACS will provide detailed post-operative instructions and follow-up care to ensure a smooth recovery and optimal results.

Instead of choosing from generic, stock chin implants, Dr. Chang can customizable implants your unique anatomy.

Dr. Chang produces live scan of your bone structure by taking a CT scan that is digitized into a CAD 3D design render. This scan shows Dr. Chang every minuscule groove and contour, and when it is transferred to a physical implant.

You are required to meet with Dr. Chang for a pre-operative consultation where she will go over her custom designs with you prior to surgery. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.

Customized implants are inserted through small incisions. Cheek, chin, jaw, and temple implants are placed through discreet incisions made on the inside of the mouth.

Dr. Chang is AMAZING.
