Skin Reconstruction Specialist Beverly Hills
“Results So Natural, It Will Be Your Best Kept Secret™”
Skin cancer is the number one most diagnosed cancer in the world. Fortunately, the majority are curable and treatable.
Skin cancer removal can sometimes result in the loss of a significant amount of skin for patients. Top Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Catherine Chang specializes in highly-specialized techniques that can effectively reconstruct the skin and remove many of the visual indications that cancer has once occurred. Dr. Catherine Chang is Quadruple Ivy League educated and is a top skin reconstruction specialist. She uses her education and advanced training to perform advanced skin reconstruction methods that can create renewed and aesthetically-pleasing physical appearances for patients that can be life-changing.
Complex Skin Closures
For this technique, Dr. Chang uses the adjacent tissues to reduce tension on the wound closure. The wound is then closed in multiple layers. This technique is usually performed immediately after Mohs surgery.
Skin Grafts
Dr. Chang utlizies skin from one area of the body and transfers it onto the wound or scar. For this advanced technique, Dr. Chang meticulously creates a graft from skin taken from another part of the body to treat more extensive wounds than other techniques.
Tissue Flaps
Dr. Chang takes skin and underlying tissue from an area adjacent to the defect to be moved over the wound. This provides the benefit of using the skin most similar to the skin removed during the Mohs surgery. Oftentimes, Dr. Chang can conceal scars within the natural crease lines of the face for an undetectable look. This technique is ideal for patients with smaller wounds or scars
Cartilitage Grafts
Sometimes the cartilage in the nose has to be removed during the Mohs surgery. Without the support of the cartilage, the nostrils will collapse. Dr. Chang takes donor cartilage from either the septum of the nose or the ear for these cases. The defect is then reconstructed using the donor cartilage, and a skin flap is used to cover the cartilage.
