Instead of choosing from generic, stock implants, Dr. Chang’s customizable implants are carefully designed especially for you and crafted by the implant manufacturer to provide the most natural results. 

During your consultation, Dr. Chang will thoroughly examine the anatomy of your face and bone structure to determine the best implant design for your desired results. Her bespoke, custom-tailored techniques aim to provide the best result for each individual patient. 

The process

Dr. Chang produces live scan of your bone structure by taking a CT scan that is digitized into a CAD 3D design render. This scan shows Dr. Chang every minuscule groove and contour, and when it is transferred to a physical implant.

You are required to meet with Dr. Chang for a pre-operative consultation where she will go over her custom designs with you prior to surgery. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.

Customized implants are inserted through small incisions. Cheek, chin, jaw, and temple implants are placed through discreet incisions made on the inside of the mouth.

CUSTOM FACIAL IMPLANTS VS. GENERIC FACIAL IMPLANTS

Unlike out-of-the-box implants, the benefits of custom facial implants include an individualized, tailored result, the ability to achieve perfect symmetry, and an exact fit. Facial bones are not perfectly smooth, so out-of-the-box generic implants are often not an exact fit due to bone irregularities, which can result in less-than-perfect results. Dr. Chang is AMAZING. I’d had incredibly severe breathing issues my whole life—I’m talking sinus headaches, blurry vision, absolutely *no* airflow through one side of my nose—all from an extremely deviated septum.
